We’re excited to announce the release of Juriba App Readiness v5.2, a significant advancement in automation, speed, and quality for application packaging and deployment readiness. This release introduces new capabilities designed to reduce manual effort, improve consistency, and accelerate time-to-deployment.

Application Subscription

With Application Subscription, you no longer need to track updates manually. By subscribing to apps in the Juriba Knowledge Base, new versions are automatically packaged, smoke tested, and prepared for deployment as soon as they’re released. This not only accelerates packaging cycles but also keeps your application estate up to date, reducing security risks from outdated software.

AI-Driven Repackaging

Silent installs are often a blocker for automation. Juriba AI can overcome this by intelligently stepping through installation wizards, making even non-silent installers fully automatable. This extends automation coverage, reduces manual effort, and frees up valuable time for more strategic initiatives.

Application Upgrade

In most enterprise environments, around 70% of deployments are upgrades rather than fresh installs. Managing older versions during deployment can be a major challenge. With Application Upgrade, you can now link previous versions to a new MSI so that Windows Installer automatically replaces them during installation. Upgrades can even be validated in smoke testing, simulating real-world scenarios to minimize failures and ensure smoother, more reliable deployments.

Quality Review

The new Quality Review capability allows you to define and enforce checklists to ensure every package meets organizational standards before release. This drives consistency across packages, reduces deployment issues, and strengthens overall quality assurance for dependable deployments.

History of Command Line Attempts

App Readiness suggests multiple installation command lines. Now you can quickly see which command lines have succeeded (or failed) in past smoke tests. This delivers immediate insight, shortens decision-making, and improves reliability by lowering the risk of failed installs.

Package Editing

The new Package Editing tab expands customization options by allowing you to set file, folder, and registry permissions, as well as define firewall exceptions directly within App Readiness. This ensures compliance and security requirements are met while giving finer control over application behavior so packages run with the right access and protections after deployment.

PSADT 4.x Support

App Readiness now supports wrapping packages with the latest PowerShell App Deployment Toolkit (PSADT) 4.x. This compatibility lets you take advantage of the toolkit’s newest enhancements while maintaining consistent automation, ensuring your deployments remain aligned with modern packaging practices.

Enhancements

We’ve also introduced a range of enhancements to improve usability, consistency, and automation, including:

  • Improved VM maintenance automation with new logs and APIs.
  • Separation of MSI properties and MST property settings for clearer configuration.
  • Automatic inheritance of folder permissions to subfolders and files.
  • Consistent handling of Active Setup keys during repackaging.
  • Ability to parameterize log file names with variables (e.g., app name, version, manufacturer).

Conclusion

Whether it’s staying ahead of application updates, automating complex repackaging tasks, or strengthening quality control, App Readiness v5.2 equips IT teams with the tools they need to accelerate digital transformation and deliver a better end-user experience.
